Who allots this seat

This site applies one test to every “direct admission” claim it meets: who allots the seat? If a counselling authority allots it against a published rank, nobody outside that process can move you, and anyone who says otherwise is selling something they do not have. If the institution allots it, direct admission is simply the ordinary way in.

Swami Vivekanand Subharti University’s MBA sits firmly in the second category. The university, based in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, sets the eligibility rule for its own distance and online MBA and admits against it. There is no rank list to climb and no cut-off announced in the papers — which also means there is no queue for anyone to promise to move you up. That is worth saying out loud, because most of the harm in Indian admissions is done by people charging for certainty that was never scarce in the first place.

The facts to check before you speak to anyone

Two of those rows do most of the work. ₹65,000 is the total for the programme, not an instalment — the whole-programme figure is the one this site tells you to get in writing every time, and here it is a single number rather than a per-semester rate you have to multiply. And the degree is the university’s, which is the answer to the only recognition question that ends up mattering.

What the eligibility check actually looks at

An MBA is a postgraduate programme, so the document that decides your case is your bachelor’s degree — the marksheets and the provisional or final certificate, not a test score. That is the whole substance of “direct admission” here: the university reads what you have already done instead of asking you to sit something new.

We deliberately do not print a percentage bar on this page. The university sets that rule and the university can revise it, and a stale number copied off a third-party site is exactly the kind of thing that gets people to pay a registration fee they then cannot recover. Ask the admission desk for the current eligibility criterion in writing, together with the list of documents it will accept, before any money moves. A genuine desk answers both in one message.

What direct admission here does not get you

Everything above is the case for the route. This is the part that is usually left off.

1. It does not shorten anything. The programme is two years. Skipping an entrance exam changes how you get in, not how long you study or what you have to pass once you are in.
2. It does not upgrade the qualification. You finish with the MBA that Subharti awards, in the mode you studied it. There is no version of it that is quietly worth more because of how you were admitted.
3. It does not make an IICT diploma into a UGC degree, and it does not work the other way either. If a conversation starts blending the two names into one qualification, that is your signal — the split of roles is set out further down this page.
4. It does not create a seat where a statute allots one. This route works because the university fills its own seats. It tells you nothing about courses filled by counselling — medical admission through NEET being the obvious one, where no direct route exists at all.
5. It does not need an intermediary. Nobody has to be paid to obtain something that is not rationed. Any fee quoted to you that does not reconcile to the university’s own published figure is not a fee.

Where this will count, and where it will not

The honest answer has two halves. The half in the programme’s favour: the MBA is a degree awarded by the university and entitled by the UGC, which is precisely the thing an employer’s HR desk or a university’s admissions office checks when it verifies a candidate. Distance mode does not change who awarded it.

The other half: where a requirement specifically names a full-time, on-campus or AICTE-approved programme, a distance MBA does not satisfy that requirement. Some recruitment notifications and some further-study routes are written that way. If you are studying towards a particular eligibility condition — a promotion band, a public-sector notification, a doctoral application — read that condition first, in its own words, and match it against the mode before you enrol. Discovering the mismatch in year two is expensive and entirely avoidable.

If your reason for studying is broader than a single named condition — a manager who needs the qualification on the record, someone changing function, someone whose employer wants the letters — then the mode is usually beside the point and the awarding body is the whole question.

Two names on one enrolment, and what each one does

You will see two institutions named around this programme, and the single most useful thing you can do as an applicant is keep them apart in your head.

IICT does not claim its own diplomas are degrees, and that candour is the point rather than an embarrassment. A diploma is not automatically the lesser thing: the IIMs spent decades on the same societies register, and until the IIM Act came into force in 2018 what an IIM handed its graduates was the PGDM — a postgraduate diploma rather than a degree — without anyone in Indian business reading it as second-rate. What matters is being told plainly which of the two you are enrolling for. On this programme, you are enrolling for the university’s MBA degree.

IICT also holds an academic MoU with Amity University. That is an institutional arrangement between two organisations. It is not a qualification, it does not attach to you, and if anybody presents it to you as something you will receive, stop the conversation there.
